Fund Distribution 2026
Community Foundation of Washington County Awards Nearly $60,000 to Local Non-Profits
Washington, Iowa
The power of local giving was on full display Monday, April 13th as the Community Foundation of Washington County (CFWC) awarded more than $58,818 to 24 local non-profit organizations during a celebratory reception at the Washington Country Club.
These funds will directly support a wide range of programs and initiatives that enrich the lives of Washington County residents—from education and the arts to healthcare, recreation, and community services.
Since its founding in 2006, CFWC has distributed over $586,000 back into the community—demonstrating the lasting impact of local philanthropy and the generosity of donors committed to making a difference close to home.
“The Community Foundation exists to connect generosity with purpose,” said Executive Director Millie Youngquist. “Each of these organizations plays a vital role in strengthening our communities, and we are proud to support their continued work.”
CFWC operates with a vision of building a stronger Washington County by promoting charitable giving, supporting local nonprofits, and helping donors create lasting legacies. Governed by a volunteer board of local leaders, the Foundation ensures that many gifts are permanently endowed—creating a sustainable source of funding for generations to come.
